I have just been told of your site. Lorne Greene had something to do with developing PSN which is why the floor plans were called "The Ponderosa" and so on. I used to go there 3 or 4 nights a week back then. I used to spend winters as a little girl at my grandparents'vacation home (lucky kid, huh!) The National Airlines campaign (famous for its new Fly Me slogan) beckoned folks to the city, You hear birds sing. This blast-from-the-past diner in Downtown Miami has been serving hungry breakfast goers since 1938. Established in 1959 by a then 11-year-old Robert who set up a stand to sell his fathers cucumber crop. They used to make the best cheeseburghers and fries and milkshakes in town. You could fill a bag for 15 cents per burger and same for fries and get a birch beer to go..they were nickle at one timeand who can forget the bowls of chili and those great to order fried eggs bacon grits and toast. I also thought it might be the Trocedero because I am not convinced it was Italian, I only remember that it had unusual and awesome garlic rolls. I love all th pictures.
